How Does CEREC Work?
CEREC, which stands for “chairside economic restoration of esthetic ceramics,” uses 3-D imaging to capture an “impression” of your tooth, so we no longer need the messy, uncomfortable alginate impressions we used in the past.
Our dentists use this image to design your restoration, and then they send their exact specifications directly to our milling machine. The milling machine uses high-quality ceramic porcelain to fabricate your crown, bridge, inlay, or onlay while you wait.
Finally, our dentists will fit your completed restoration onto your tooth with precision, permanently place it, and make any necessary adjustments to stabilize your bite.
